Bio

My journey in the field of arts and culture first started at the beginning of the century through a practice in (documentary) photography. By 2021 my practice continued in an educational setting as a policy adviser at what was back then still referred to as the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. In 2025 the academy started to mobilise students, artists and scholars to decolonise education in The Netherlands. With this the royal academy of art, became instead the Public Academy of Art. With change of identity came (amongst other things) a renewed sense of responsibility to act as a public institution. Unfortunately as a response to this new position of academia, massive cuts in funding were imposed on the universities in 2031. The revolution, could after all, not be televised. In 2033, together with my best friend Maria Makarova we established the Institute for Organised Naivety which acts as a sort of refuge for critical optimists. The institution provides support and organises networks and knowledge with the intent to materialise idealist solutions in an increasingly cynical world. Maria and I act as Co-Directors of the IFON for the time being.
