hi all! I’m Samata and I’m a researcher in the anthropology of music. As my name means “equilibrium” in sanskrit so my work/ research focuses on analysing and creating balance through the cultural study of music. My passion for western classical music has brought me to see the musical world in its social legitimacy and cultural construction and my Indian roots have enabled my spirit to withhold the integrity of my quest. I’m currently working with the UNESCO and a few associations as a culture consultant to mobilise projects on : music as a tool of social intelligence. This research concept began around 20 years ago when I was still looking for solid grounds to anchor my search around the role of classical music in society. Time and cooperation have promulgated some change and we are still working towards the aim to unite the equilibrium within with the opportunities without.
