Bio

Michal Jurgielewicz is an educator, interdisciplinary event producer and artist. He is interested in knowledge production and exchange in online-AFK social/cultural spaces and infrastructures - a grey, informal peer-to-peer education. His work is focused on the world-building practices and storytelling- studying, discussing and developing methods and strategies for trans-local collaborations through media narratives, events, installations, video and game production, interfaces and hybrid publishing. He is an Adjunct professor at INDA, International Program in Design and Architecture at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand working with students on speculative urban and architectural narratives developed using game engines, open virtual worlds, and new media strategies. Being interested in alternative pedagogies and modes of cultural and spatial knowledge production and exchange - he co-founded Handle With Care, Monitor Lizard House project space and You Said You Like Dancing rave series in Bangkok as non-hierarchical porous ensembles open to all. He works on media narratives, books and publications with House Publishing in Sharjah. Currently he is part of curatorial team, directing visual and communication strategies for Hosting Lands - a distributed, semi-nomadic and situated exhibition in Denmark.
